Our Story

Evan Hallinan and Amy Schmitt opened Morgan River Grill in March of 2020. Executive Chef, Evan Hallinan, has an extensive career as the executive chef in previous restaurants as well as catering venues. He also established "where the locals eat," Madison's in Port Royal, which is named after their daughter. The Hallinans have created a restaurant overlooking the water at Dataw Island Marina, that offers private dining events as well as daily dining. Morgan River Grill is a full-service restaurant, open to the public through the gate at Dataw Island that is also accessible by boat. Providing locally sourced products, seafood and produce, we offer an extensive menu that is almost entirely gluten free with vegetarian options.
